Gibson Elementary School is the first to be awarded the Attendance "Goal Getter" of the Month for having the highest proportional attendance for January.
The Attendance "Goal Getter" of the Month award is a new initiative by the district to celebrate school communities and attendance teams who are making gains in improving our district-wide proportional attendance by improving their building proportional attendance.
As RGSD pushes toward full accreditation, the team focuses on academics and attendance. One way to help with obtaining full accreditation is that RGSD needs 90 percent of our scholars at school 90 percent of the time.
While many of our schools showed improvements in proportional attendance for January, Gibson Elementary came out on top, followed by Meadows and Glasgow Elementary.
The attendance team focuses on improving 90/90 attendance for the building and establishing attendance incentives for scholars who meet 90/90. Gibson Elementary will hold on to the traveling trophy until the end of February, when a new Attendance "Goal-getter" will be announced.
