A First Student Transportation bus servicing Riverview Gardens School District was involved in a traffic accident at the intersection of Lewis & Clark Blvd. and St. Cyr Rd. A vehicle traveling at high speeds crashed into the back of the school bus.
No RGSD students were present on the school bus as its routes had already been completed for the day. Thankfully, we do not believe either driver sustained serious or significant injury during this accident.
We are thankful for the rapid response of the first responders. While we are grateful that no students were involved and no one was injured, we implore all individuals driving through neighborhoods, school zones and areas with children to drive carefully and observe all traffic laws to help protect the safety our children.
