High School Information
As we navigate the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, our priority is to ensure the health and safety of our students. We are also committed to ensuring that our students have the ability to continue to learn and grow. With that in mind, we have launched our remote learning plan. The high school plan does not rely on assignment packets. The work focuses on online activities. Students should use devices they own to complete the work (laptops, tablets, cell phones). All students/families who have not updated their email addresses should complete the "Scholar Email Request" form above. Here are the key details of the high school plan:
Seniors- Transcripts have been audited as of Thursday, March 19 to identify seniors who have completed the minimum graduation requirements and can be graduated out for the year, as well as, the remaining course needs of the seniors who still need to complete their requirements. Seniors who need to complete specific requirements will either be immediately enrolled in our Edgenuity online program or work with individual teachers for completion. Those Seniors at our ACE locations will continuing their online program at home. All seniors will be enrolled in a course by Wednesday, March 25 by our credit recovery and counseling team. The April National ACT date has been postponed until June and Accuplacer test dates at St. Louis Community College have also been postponed. We will a waiver letter for seniors who have participated in the A Plus program, as well as monitor the updates for NCAA and NAIA exemptions due to school closures. Seniors who attend North County Technical half-time will complete their assignments via Google Classroom. The Six Flags activity scheduled for April 7th has been cancelled and a refund will be issued. Additional updates related to other school activities including prom and graduation, will be provided as soon as they are available.
Remote Learning- It is our goal to provide remote learning opportunities that are engaging, but will not create any added stress to our families. These learning opportunities will consist of various methods, including but not limited to virtual instructional platforms and grade level packets. We will continue to use of various online platforms to provide student instruction. Those platforms include Edmodo, Remind101, Google Classroom, Flipgrid, Zoom, The Khan Academy and email. Our Teachers will work with you to determine the best platform. Links to teacher assignments, student access codes and contact information can be found in the RGHS “Remote Learning Edition” parent newsletter. Special School District has provided learning materials for students who are receiving services that will be shared with families.
